Weidemann explained it is part of a program to increase the reserves held in Frankfurt, and there was no doubt on the security of the gold held in America and France. The gold reserves of the country will be stored in Frankfurt because it has a special storage with the corresponding equipment, said Carl-Ludwig Thiele, a Bundesbank board member. my website A large part of the German gold is held in foreign banks, primarily in New York and Paris. At the beginning of this year the Bundesbank said it intended to repatriate 700 tons of gold worth 27 billion euro by 2020. Germany to repatriate gold from US, France

Khodorkovsky came to represent what critics say is the Kremlin's misuse of the judicial system, curbing the rule of law, and of its refusal to permit dissent. Putin, who mounted savage personal attacks on Khodorkovsky, has always insisted he got his just deserts in the courts for theft on a grand scale. Putin would not have allowed Khodorkovsky's release if he saw him as a threat, political strategist Gleb Pavlovsky told Ekho Moskvy radio. "Khodorkovsky is Putin's prisoner," he said. Liliya Shevtsova, an analyst at the Carnegie Moscow Centre, said the pardon was not evidence of a "political thaw" but a "demonstration of the absolute power of one man in the Kremlin who enjoys his omnipotence and who has found one more way to demonstrate it".

Despite an aggressive Supercharger expansion, Tesla won't likely be able to meet demand in all of the new markets it will enter in 2014. So, while Tesla's international expansion is nice, it's only one side of the story Tesla investors will need for the stock to grow into its pricey valuation . Tesla will also have to rapidly ramp up supply. It's a pricey market. That's why dividend stocks are more relevant than ever Dividend stocks can make you rich. It's as simple as that.

In an interview with the Bild newspaper (in German) , the executive said the bank got back an estimated US$1.5 billion in gold, as part of a plan unveiled in January to increase the reserves held in Frankfurt. By 2020, it wants to have 700 tons back from the US and France. Weidmann also said the decision had nothing to do with how safe or not are the American and French vaults. During the cold war, West Germany followed a policy of storing its gold as far west as possible, in case of a Soviet invasion. German reserves peaked in 1968 at about 4,000 tons, several years before the end of the so-calledBretton Woodssystem of fixed international exchange rates, which was underpinned by gold reserves.

The consensus on this point is solid. Yet German voters resist, reluctant to make further sacrifices (as they see it) to help the euro areas struggling periphery. For most of 2013, with elections looming, it was hard for Merkel to challenge them. She no longer has that excuse. After her victory in September, she leads a coalition that commands a huge parliamentary majority. Still, she continues to combine calls for more Europe (meaning stronger oversight of southern Europes governments) with an insistence on less Europe (meaning little or no new money for mutual fiscal support).

Credit: Reuters/Fabrizio Bensch BERLIN (Reuters) - U.S. contracting companies such as Cisco, which manages much of the German armed forces' data, should be contractually barred from passing sensitive information to the U.S. security services, a spokesman for Chancellor Angela Merkel's conservatives was quoted saying. German news magazine Focus on Saturday cited Hans-Peter Uhl, parliamentary spokesman on interior policy for the conservatives, as saying Cisco needed to be required by contract not to pass sensitive material to the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA).
